Turmion Kätilöt gathered such an audience in front of the Open Air II stage that it felt like the whole TUSKA audience was there. It was easily the largest crowd I've ever seen at a Turmion Kätilöt show, and I've seen quite a few over the years.

Turmion Kätilöt, formed in 2003, stands as a prominent force in the Finnish industrial metal scene, renowned for their aggressive riffs, electronic flair, and provocative lyrics. The name of the band itself translates to "Midwives of Perdition," hinting at their dark, theatrical aesthetic and thematic explorations.

At the heart of Turmion Kätilöt's sound is a potent blend of heavy, guitar-driven metal and pulsating electronic beats. This fusion creates an intense sonic landscape that captivates listeners and fuels their reputation for high-energy performances. Their music is characterised by harsh vocals that convey themes of decadence, rebellion, and the darker facets of human nature. Often laced with dark humour and irony, their lyrics delve deep into societal critiques and personal introspection.
